I know it doesn't look like much, but biographies and memoirs got a little face lift. The massive wall seemed to isolate off the rest of the sections. So, I took apart the sections and made two separate bookcases of three. Now they provide a little relief in the aisle. Also, this section serves as wall to contain areas. There may be better ways to section, but for now this works! : ]
Biographies and memoirs were stretched out a bit to fit on both sides of the bookcases. Now we have room to grow when we get new ones in. It's slowly coming together. When GCA comes down to carpet the areas and take the bookcase pieces away it will look prrrreeeettttttty nice.

Busy times in the LC. Here are some highlights of some of the ways the LC is being used by staff and students.
Ross-Blair getting her kids moving and active with hands-on activities... and a little musical chairs! : ] Students were up, moving, interacting, and thinking! It looked super fun! I wanted to be a student in her class that day. :) Elsner had her students on the chromebooks calculating slopes on an interactive website. Students have the ability to move around with the mobile devices in the LC. The last time E was in the Learning Commons she had student groups with brooms and bowling bowls. Students were learning, moving around, and having fun! D. Miller's students were using the chromebooks for ELI Review, an online editing and revision tool that the ELA department is piloting this year. Students were going through an activity where they were targeting the day's objective and commenting on writing. |
